Planning for School Pictures

School Portraits

High School, Elementary, and Middle School

We don't just take school pictures—we provide a great experience that results in a treasured keepsake.

  • You’ll receive our picture day notice 1-2 weeks prior to picture day, so you’ll have plenty of time to prepare.
  • Volunteers are on hand to help students, provide combs and check appearances. Younger children will receive guidance every step of the way.
  • Lifetouch professional school photographers give each student the care and attention needed to create a quality portrait.
  • If a student is sick on picture day, your school will send notification about retake day.

Planning for Graduation Pictures

Graduation Portraits

Graduation portrait sessions are special, once-in-a-lifetime events. The better prepared you are, the more you’ll love your portraits.

Get Your Portrait Session Scheduled Early

Time-slots fill up quickly, so get your portrait session scheduled right away. Talk to your Lifetouch representative to find out whether you can schedule your portrait session online.

Before Your Portrait Session

We’ll send you an appointment notice to confirm your appointment time and date. It also includes a consultation card that asks you to tell us about your personality and hobbies. This lets us personalize your session and make sure your portraits reflect the real you.

At Your Portrait Session

A sitting fee is collected at the time of your session. Lifetouch will take your official yearbook pose, along with other poses you select. Don’t be shy! Tell them what you want.

What to Bring:

  • Several extra outfits with matching shoes, casual and formal (while you may not wear every outfit, it’s good to have several on hand).
  • Bring letter jackets, uniforms, and props that reflect who you are.
  • Some areas provide a make-up artist for an additional fee (not available in all areas).
  • Hair and make-up should be done before you arrive, but bring supplies for touch-ups.
For cap and gown images, consider the following dress tips:

  • For men—wear a dress shirt and tie that complements the gown colours.
  • For women—wear a blouse with a collar that complements the gown colours.

After your Portrait Session

Lifetouch will send your proof set in the mail (the proofs will have a watermark and won’t be retouched). The package will include your login information for the special grads website, where you can view, share and order portrait products online. Your finished portraits will be retouched for free.

Planning for Sports Pictures

Sports Portraits

We believe that quality sports portraits inspire team spirit and personal pride. We know practice is important to student athletes, so we’ve perfected our process to avoid interfering as much as possible.

  • As picture day approaches, we'll provide an order envelope in plenty of time for you to consider your package options.
  • Feel free to practice your smile—but don’t worry—our portrait photographers are posing experts and sports enthusiasts. They’ll guide you through the entire portrait session.
